Frequently Asked Questions

How much do you charge for your cakes?

Every cake is custom made for each client. In order to correctly give you a price for your cake we must know: number of servings, flavor of cake, flavor of icing, will there be a filling, what is the theme.

Can I place an order for an odd number of cupcakes?

No. We sell our cupcakse by the dozen. One flavor per dozen. Since we are a custom baker, we do not just have cupcakes sitting around to fill your order. They are made fresh just for you.

How early should I contact you about making treats?

We used to tell clients to contact us at least 30 days in advance. However, as word has gotten out about LittleSnowflakes the schedules are filling up faster and faster. Now we suggest you contact us at least 3 months in advance. (Please understand we cannot guarantee your event date will be available. If your event date is not available we are happy to put you on the waiting list in case we have a cancellation).

What is your delivery policy?

We offer FREE delivery in Midlothian for any of our treats that require "Set-Up". Anything outside of Midlothian is $25 for the first 15 miles and then $5 per mile (both ways) after.
Examples of items requiring Set-up: Wedding Cakes, Multi-tiered Cakes*, Cupcake Towers

*Clients are welcome to sign a waiver accepting responsibility if they choose to transport multi-tiered cakes themselves. Unless specifically requsted, all product NOT requiring a setup will be held for Pick-up by the client. Pick up times are always on Friday afternoon 4:30pm -5:30pm. Any items NOT picked up will be offered "For Sale" locally on our FB Page to our fans on a First Come First Serve Basis.  If you have NOT called to let us know you are running late, any items NOT picked up by 5:30 pm will be forfeited by you and sold.

**There are NO Refunds on forfeited  items. **

I'm on a special diet. Can you make treats for me that meet my special dietary requirements?

We take the health of our clients very seriously. Since items in our kitchen have at some time come into contact with all six of the top allergens: Eggs, Nuts, Soy, Peanuts, Milk, and Wheat, we WILL NOT create treats for special diets. This also includes "sugar free" items for those on diabetic diets or "Gluten Free" treats.  None of our recipes have been tested in a lab for Sugar Content or Alchohol Sugars. Since we do use wheat in our kitchen we would never be able to guarantee Gluten cross contamination. Did you know that Gluten Particles from flour can hang in the air for up to 12 hours?

Do you donate products for non-profit organizations like schools and groups?

We are a registered participant with Icing Smiles, Inc. where we are called upon from time to time to created "Dream Cakes" and "Celebration Cakes" for terminally ill children and their families. LittleSnowflakes Cottage Bakery donates 100% of our time and materials to this cause when we are called upon.
Outside of that, we are able to budget for two more donations for the year. This budget is set in November of the preceding year. We do get several calls every year asking for donations. These spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

You made my wedding cake, how do I claim my anniversary cake?

If you purchased a Wedding Cake from us, we offer a Free Anniversary cake to match the top tier of your wedding cake on or around your 1 year anniversary. To claim this cake, please contact us 1 month prior to your anniversary to ensure that your cake is on the "work calendar".  Once your cake is on the calendar, you will told the Friday Date that it will be available for pick up.  This offer expires after your 1 year Anniversary Month.
